Got the box installed, really slick piece of kit.

Gamertag: PlanxBox

(I know, I know, but all other suitable tags were taken :( )
Still have to scratch my Gold card.

Controller is a bit fucked; left analogue stick should be where directional button is.
I like the trigger buttons, though.
I will not be playing FPSs; I'm too much of a spaz with the controller, ey.

Not overly impressed with the graphics, but running a PC at 1920x1200 for some time will do that to you.

GTAIV obviously is the win.
Halo3 is the fail.
Forza also owns.

do you have a hdtv? and do you have hd output turned on?

if not. dont complain :owned:
you get used to the analogue stick btw, i like its position a lot more than the directional button. that is, the dpad hardly ever gets used as movement, so its obvious its position is swapped with the stick.

sending you a friendrequest

Yeah, 32"LCD set to HD 720p.
But it's not like I'm disappointed with the graphics, runs smooth etc.

Yeah, controller is fine except for anything FPS-y.

And I only signed up y'day, sir.

Get Gears and still be blown away by the graphics :p You can pick it up cheap now. Get Crackdown too, it may not be a looker any more but its some damn fine gamplay, and i saw it in the sale the other day for a fiver. Cant go wrong.

With the stick, its apples and oranges, you know. You probably gamed a lot more on the old play stations, so the stick seems wrong. To me, I cnat get used to the playstation stick, and would seriously drop another £35 for a new pad if they released a PS3 pad with the stick and the dpad switched. The stick is at its most natural in the position it is on 360, thats a fact. HOWEVER, whether you like it there is clearly subjective.

But I think everybody in the entire universe agrees... The 360 dpad is a huge steaming pile of shit... Wow, if it wasn't for that, the 360 pad would be the PERFECT design...

true, the dpad is terrible. its also prone to lose sensitivity.

Yeah :( The PSX design of the DPad is great, but I still think Nintendo have the DPad down to a "D". Shame they made it 2mmx2mm on everything these days...

You're right that I'm used to the PS2 controller, but yeah, I'll get used to thr 360 one (plus I like that it's wireless).

I already played GoW on PC, but now I can see that it's more a console game than a PC game. I may pick it up for the mp (is it still being played?)
And I always had my eye on Crackdown with its over the top gameplay, looks are secondary

Crackdown is awesome. Once you max out the agent and jump from roof top to roof top, its just fun as hell. I think the MP is a lot more fun than GTA4. You cant pick up a car and throw it at a friend in GTA4 :D

gow mp is still being played, a lot.
in fact, i think they'll be shooting themselves in the foot by releasing gow2 so soon after

Trans is just bitter because he couldn't cheat to beat the game and get the points.

My gamerscore is about 1,000 in Crackdown, o'dium. I was not aware there were MP modes in Crackdown. It just doesn't appeal to me the way GTA does. That game got boring FAST.

I can't find a damn Comet to save my life. I drove through Star Junction for hours earlier in a Turismo and couldn't find shit.

Start a street race from Brucie and if a Comet spawns at the starting line, steal it. You'll lose the race but win a Comet.

My strategy for stockpiling the infernus was to drive the one I got in a mission around near the front of a safehouse. As soon as one drove by, I'd park mine in the reserved spot, steal the other one, park it, etc.

Its nice to have one always ready to go at each safehouse, but I like the comet a lot more for cornering. One big complaint I have with this game is that the races are too easy. I wish that each race had competition based on the 'class' of car you had. Once you finish all the races, you cannot keep doing them again and again can you?

I can't remember if you can still call Brucie to do races or not. You're better off going into MP and doing Races anyway. Lots more challenge, though you have to content with assholes who drive backwards on the course solely to fuck up other drivers...

if i'm not mistaken the other racers will use cars based on the same class as the one you roll up in. i went to a race once in a station wagon thing and then saw a turismo like half a block before the race start. after grabbing the turismo and turning to the corner to the race start the grid was half full of turismos and station wagons.

the problem is that the driving ai completely sucks ass; they always brake way late and overshoot corners. hell, even the cab drivers can't drive worth shit and will often crash into poles, people and other cars if you call for one.

I raced station wagons and trucks in an infernus.

The race classes are random.

meh well that's gay. i've done all the first island races and 3 or 4 on the second and they've always been super cars like what i take to race with myself so i just assumed that's how it worked.

trans, you said you registered at the socialclub right? have you completeled any of the marathon challanges?
