Carroll needs to calm down a bit. too many stabs at the ball, but yeah great goals.

that's a great monkey to get off their backs

knowing rooney, it probably involved a classic forward's tackle and a lot of upset

i was assuming he stomped someone's balls again. i tried espn but the only info i could get was that whatever happened was in a match against Montenegro (??? lol) last fall.

edit: but yeah, more likely he picked up a well-deserved yellow for being an idiot and then talked shit about the refs after.

England drew with France, 1-1
France beat Ukraine 2-0
and Ukraine beat Sweden 2-1.

That suggest that England and France are the strongest in group D.
So I'd have thought England should have thrashed Sweden by
at least 3-0. They only just scraped through.

Doubt England will win their group. If they don't lose on tuesday to Ukraine, they'll more than likely be relaxing first class with cocktails on british airways a week on sunday, destination UK, if they face Spain (or Croatia or Italy) on the 23rd.
Correct me if I'm talking out my arse. I just don't think they have what it takes to get past the quarter finals, if they get there at all.

He drew a red card for kicking the Montenegro player in the back of the leg in a qualifier, so he was automatically handed a suspension for the group stage.

never mind getting past the quarters, they'll be lucky to get into them

but yeah, they'll most likely be knocked out by spain - which i guess isn't the worst way of going out

That was reduced to a 2 match ban from 3, pretty silly seeing as thats the penalty for receiving a straight red but hey ho, silly boy and sweet hypocrisy

England looking good without him though and going up against a team that just got tonked by the French squad that England drew with, hate the hodge but hes got the squad playing to its (and his) strengths - deep, rigid, compact, tight and not give a shit about possession but just get on the end of anything that comes your way, even if it means lumping it long, It aint pretty and a bit league 1 but its been quite effective.

good call with 3-2 also, would never of seen it as a high scoring game

why are they starting to play both matches at the same time now? Does it have something to do with eliminating transgression?

Not sure what transgression means but it had to do with the result of one match potentially influencing the outcome of the other. Like with Germany/Denmark and Holland/Portugal. The result of Ger/Den has great implications for the relevance of the other match.
