I'm not talking about Al-assad or his father ;), I'm talking about when the parliament was merged into 1 party in the 50s

Hitler is a bit of a tricky subject but he was given power through a democratic process via Hindenburg

Talk about tricky, I just started watching Oliver Stone's Untold History of the United States, so I have a newfound respect for the complexities of WWII.

Being elected doesn't mean you can't be/become a dictator. See: Hitler, Caesar, etc.

Qui bono?

Russia - They get the Krim.

USA - They forced the Russians to react - they would have lost their military bases AND would have had a pro euro country with a direct border to russia. This again forced the EU to react - the EU can not be fine with the annexion of the Krim. In the end this drives a wedge between the EU and Russia. This is good for the US.

My guess is that the regime change in the ukraine was pushed by the US (smart) and also by the EU (not so smart.)

and just because some elected people become dictators doesn't mean all elected people become dictators. see: most elected leaders, etc

The votes were rigged, for starters. Although Crimea would've voted for it anyway, which is funny.

Whenever a vote doesn't go the way the US neo-cons planned, it's rigged :olo:

What a pathetic shithole of a third world nation the yanks have. All Putin has to say is "come at me bros" and they all shit their pants. Good on Russia for claiming what was rightfully theirs

By rigged, I mean there are areas of Crimea that had 123% turnout. :dork:
