Mkkkk

Current setup is

2x6600gt 128 graphics cards and shit fast CPU

Running on latest drivers from NVidia Beta 81xx nforce

Timedemo on EVERY SINGLE game runs the exact same if notslightly SLOWER in SLi enabled mode compared to a single GPU mode....

can someone tell me what I am doing wrong ?

possiblities are

vysnc

cpu limited

gpu limited

sli not setup correctly

My guess is either the sli component in the drivers/mobo hasn't completely matured yet, it should get better with future driver releases. Or the games themselves need to be coded better to take advantage of the twin video setup. Seeing as it's probable now that Nvidia is concentrating more on a 7800x sli setup, your setup might not get the same attention as their latest offering (as it usually is when new cards come to market).

cpu limited its an athlon 3.5 Ghz so no it aint

gpu limited 2x6600gt's so I really doubt it

sli not setup correctly ..... thanks for the insight, you wanna tell me why? :icon27:

Check your mobo drivers, goto your mobo manufacture's site and see if they have released anything, also check the manufacture of your northbridge for updated drivers as mobo manufactures can be outdated sometimes.

Man, running the latest drivers as it is....... I mean this system was bought for performance. I didnt expect to have to upgrade to a 7800 GTx this quickly to run at a decent Res.

In an un-named game *cough* its not even pulling 70 FPS with everything on max except water detail at medium @800x600

I mean WTF ?

I know that SLI works in old games, but it should work better in future apps to take better advantage of it. It's sort of like running AMD 64 over a 32bit setup. Most games will see you a fraction of an increase in performance, and in some cases I've heard they will run slower. This will change when the apps are appropriately coded to take advantage.

What type of cooling do you have to get that much of an OC?

So basically this is a case of NVidia telling everyone SLi is the shit when in actual fact SLi dont do shit unless a game has been coded to utilise it to the max ?

What the funk!

I mean this game at the beggining even goes NVidia Play it how its meant to be or someshit and it doesnt even fully support SLi

I read anandtechs website and looked at the benchmarks for some games and I aint even getting close to it.....

Image

My system on same settings is pulling around 75-80 FPS.... :icon27:

and trust me this is running on newest drivers, newest everything professionally setup ..... what the funk :icon27:

half the time I think that these benchmarks are just lies

See that's the thing. That chart shows a marginal increase (well 20fps is ok, if that's all you can afford). By buying a second card you would want to achieve a leap of at least twice that of a single card right? Isn't that why you spend the money on a second card?

A twin setup should help nicely in extreme resolutions and full AA and AF. This will become more apparent in future game releases. Does your setup bench very similar in max resoultion and AA/AF with single/twin setups?

..... no

As I said with everything on maxed out even in Doom 3 the game is pulling something like 75- 80 fps which is around 15-20 FPS off of the anandtech benchmark. I mean, how funking ghey is that.

Why are you using doom3? Did you uncap the 60 fps thing?

The framerate is uncapped in the D3 benchmark.
