Quake 4 Rcon help

I am getting rcon not enabled when I try to login to my server. Is there a certain port that needs to be open for rcon to work?

looks like quake4 default port is 28004

Found the problem...looks like the q3 server running on the same box was creating the rcon issue, the min I stopped it rcon worked fine.
