towers are waaay too powerful though. they out range everything, including heavy siege weapons which are supposed to counter them...

For realism's sake, towers SHOULD outrange most things until the advent of cannon. There were trebs in the Middle Ages, but they weren't cheap 10-a-penny things like in AoK. Mostly capturing fortifications before cannon (and even sometimes after cannon) was by escalade (ladders etc.). Siege towers would be nice too.

Since EE2 will have a villager management HUD, it would be nice if it had a city/town management ability too, so individual settlements could be upgraded individually like in Civ.

btw I didn't like the sound of spies. I can imagine MP games turning into spy spams and getting dull fast.

games with extreme realism are generally boring.

Towers can see spies, and your spies can undo the effects of an enemy spy. Siege weapons are over powered against normal units also. I know that in IRL a big rock ball can wipe out 23124 guys, but this is game, and games need balance.
