Make a seperate thread for this kind of stuff in the future.

You probably didn't install it correctly. Start Q3A and open up the console with ~. Look in the righthand bottom corner. It will tell you your version. Report back.

OK then, how should I install it then? It's the 1.11 version.

Download the pointrelease from the following link to be sure you got the right pr.

ftp://ftp.idsoftware.com/idstuff/quake3 ... se_132.exe

Now just follow the installation and make sure to point it to the directory where q3a is installed.

OK, we'll try a clear install.

Install q3a, this will be the 1.11 version.

Install pointrelease 1.32 to the directory you installed q3a to and remember to allow pb to be installed.

Put THIS FILE in the pb directory which is in the directory you installed q3a to and run it twice.

If you still can't play please post the error it gives.

c:\Q3Ademo\baseq3\pak1.pk3 (26 files)

Running in restricted demo mode.

Couldn't load default.cfg
Could it be because I'm trying to run the demo version?

if you only have the demo version of the game you'll only be able to play on demo servers... ie- NOT protocol 66-68, or 48, or a few others for that matter.

You're kidding, right?

You do not apply game patches to demos. That's a blindingly obvious fact that applies to just about every game ever.
