Same friend as with the address book has a camera that takes still pictures and movie pictures. It is a JVC. The still pictures auto load with the installed program, but we don't know how to download the video movies to the hard drive. Is there a special program or does it have to work through the video card?

My suggestion is to get a USB media reader. Remove the media card from the camera and then just insert it into the $20 media reader, and just copy off the files from your "removable hard drive"

Actually it is a firewire connection. SO I guess all I need to know is if there is a good video transfer program that you guys might know about. Windows 2000 Pro.

GR-DV4000U The camera is actually quite new I'm told.
Because it's an older HP computer, I was thinking maybe it does not support firewire??
We put a firewire card [pci slot] in and booted up but wndows did not detect a new device.

The computer is an HP Pavilion XL759
serial number US03603466
I tried googling for an answer to firewire but couldnt see any results that would help. Also tried IEEE1394 compliant

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.
I am now sick.

On the box for the card it says it is IEEE1394A and says something about pci 2.1
And yes there is a listing in device manger says pci simple communication device........with a yellow question mark beside it.
But because it didn't recognise a new divice on boot I wasnt sure if this was it or not
