Can you remember the first thing you ever typed at q3w on day 1 of you joining,
however many months or years ago that was?
( for the first time ever, not alts or second accounts).
What forum it was, what it was about,
can you even remember exactly what you said?
I can't, though I know it was in beginners discussion.

I don't remember my first thread from long ago, but it was about level editing. I stopped mapping for a while after my system crashed and I lost my shit, but I got back into some editing a couple years later, and couldn't remember what the hell my original account was.

So I registered again with this one, and my post was about testing compiled maps with the q3 demo. I needed to download the demo because my roommate moved out and it was his copy of the game I had been using. It turned out (as expected) that you needed to full game to map, and I was told to suck it up and buy it. Unfortunately I couldn't find it anywhere...

how did you find your way to raws ?

i thought that board was buried in a heap of internet which only had traffic from the poeple that were directed there

I couldn't use his cd key because I didn't have the game installed after I lost my harddrive. I was so pissed about it I didn't bother to start mapping again. When I wanted to give it another shot a couple years later, I was SOL because I no longer had the game.

I posted in GD asking "What happened to the Claymore?"

Then something along the lines of "It was my favorite skin in Quake 2, I wonder why they didn't make one for the new Grunt model"

Then Turb showed up saying "Funny you should mention that" and posted an image of a claymore skin he had been working on for a bit, but stopped to work on something else.
He then said he'd work on it a bit more and finish it up for me.

I remember Turb saying he was having a hard time with the face, and I posted the phrase. "So what if he looks like he just let out a sweet fart, he looks awesome."
