HELP ME PLEASE !!!

Ive just got quake 3 gold edition. Ive installed it. Im in quake three arena and i go to multiplayer and change to internet, but apparently there are no servers found :S something about the master server. So i thought i must not have the most up to date version so i go on "check for quake 3 arena updates" in the quake three folder on my comp. it looks likes it starts downloading but never progresses :S i am on a 1mb connection btw. can please someone help me in simple terms and a possible link on how i can get online

First off:
Download and install the latest point release patch from one of the following sites:
http://www.quake3world.com
http://www.avault.com
http://www.3dgamers.com
http://www.fileplanet.com
http://www.planetquake.com

Still no dice? Simplest workaround for this we know of is to use a 3rd-party program to find internet games.

For example:
http://www.kquery.com

Once you do find a game, it's possible you'll come up against problems connecting to the servers. In which case post again.

hey
i got another question. if i create a server on my comp and i want a friend to join from his comp ovre the interenet. How do i find the ip of the server i have created?

Tell him to do /connect ipnumber in the console.

Or let him add your IP to the favorites in his server browser (ASE or something else).
