Q3 Prerelease/Promotional Videos?

Post by Foo »

Anyone got any of these or know where to get them?

AAAAAGES ago, like just before the Q3tests, I remember seeing a video of someone running through a Q3 level, and it was one of the levels that never made it to final release.

I'd love to see that video again. I can't remember much at all about it, other than the player running through this portal then immediately turning around to his left. Yeah. Vague.

Yeah I believe I've seen that video. There is quite a nice video that comes with the Q3 gold package too. Might be around some p2p networks, dunno.

EDIT: Or maybe fileplanet. All I know is I remember dloading it.

As I remember it he was running through a level that looked like a library.

Doesn't really seem plausible to me now.

IGN is a great resource for archived media, which effectively spawns quite a few years now: :)

Makes me want to dig out the last arena mod and look around at all the 'development media' that never made it in. :D

In its day? Shit, when the game settings are maxed out it still looks fantastic, the doom3 engine certainly isnt that much more impressive...

Hadn't seen that before man, thanks!

Just spend about 20 mins playing around with a rotating mirror in radiant too :D

The one I'm looking for is different. Starting to think I either completely imagined it, or I'll not see it again cause noone remembers/has it.

Q3 always looked and always will look very pretty :) it's not only the effects but also the textures used in the maps. In some time it might look a bit outdated but it will remain good looking.

Wow that movie is cool. If that's not the one foo was thinking of, then, is this also a map that wasn't released? Cos I don't recognise it. Maybe id software still have it and could release it if someone wrote to them?

I totally agree. I think quake 3 still looks awesome.

You can find a level with parts of it in, in one of the Q3tests.
I'll see if I can dig it out for ya.

No man, AntiSnipe, and I, (and I think DooMer) played it quite a bit when it came out.

I'm only sorry I never backed it up. As I can't find it now. :tear:

I've got it and taken a look. Not bad.

I can up it if you're desparate.

Only video I remember is a video taken from the IHV release, but that was pretty redundand as the IHV release had already leaked into public domain.
