When Q2 went gold. A little blurb on planetquakes front page led me to that link and man does it ever put things in perspective when it comes to player interaction and information.

They had Thresh test the mp ffs.

Also interesting that he was talking about java, that never materialized did it?

Too much of a hassle probably and not so easy to get good performance with. You can read some stuff about it in the quakesrc forum.
