So after having this thing lying around the house for about a year now after Creative's tech support fucked me up the shitter repeatedly while trying to get the piece of shit fixed....
I was considering throwing it in the bin today so I didn't keep finding it and getting pissed off at a royal waste of £100, but on a whim I decided to fuck about with it. After all, I'd been chewing the thing and throwing it round the room on and off for the past 12 months, plugging it in and dicking about couldn't do any more harm.
After running through every recovery procedure known to man, and having windows explorer lock up on me ~10 times, I gave DOS format a try. Failed the first few times but by using the 'force dismount' switch (/X I think) the fucker worked.
I now have a functional MP3 player for my trip home for christmas \o/
I'm sure this solution must be buried somewhere in Creative's mazelike support website, but all the advice I got pointed towards using their homebrew format utility.
In summary:
Creative = shit, do not buy
Me = happy
Just fixed my MuVo
Just fixed my MuVo

Agreed.. :icon26:Tormentius wrote:Their tech support and the quality of their drivers, in my experience at least, leaves a lot to be desired.DiscoDave wrote: Have owned creative products since my 486 comp and can say I've barly had any problems with them. Don't see why loads of people knock them down.
Still own an audigy, but yeah, tech support is nil
[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.
It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.
I am now sick.
