Location Names in Q4

Location Names in Q4

So I noticed the stock Q4 maps don't use any form of location names for teamplay, but there ARE location name entities. Can anybody shine some light on this? Do these entities work and if so, why were they left out of the stock maps? :confused:

they are called info_locations or something like this, they havent been used because of performance afaik.

q4max has locations and a team overlay. vq4 doesn't. I believe they had to manually add it, because the stock maps don't have locations.

Im not exactly sure what they did but it didnt involve changing all the maps, it just works on any map afaik.

q4max doesn'T have locations as far as I can see, they only show the nearest item.
(correct me if I'm wrong)

afaik they didnt used the id routines for their map locations but just check for the nearest important item.
Default map locations do not work because the HUD doesnt show them.

Why not?
