nasty nasty nasty variant of cool web search

so somehow my mom got a horrible version of cool web search on her computer and now i cant get it off. running programs like spybot and ad-aware cause the computer to reboot. cwshredder is of no use. it says it removed the POS but wait a few minutes and suddenly it's back. it's the y.exe varient.

there also appears to be a little nasty virus on the computer as well. i try to run trendmicro's online virus scan, housecall, but that's completely fubar and crashes every time.

so. is there some sort of definitive end all way to get rid of this damn cool web search BS? i'm looking more for a manual removal method as these programs seem to be missing something for it to keep reappearing moments after it was supposedly gone.

also, as far as the virus goes what free anti-virus programs would you recomend? i have a sneaky suspicion that the virus has something to do with the inability to remove those fucking thing.

I don't know how to remove it, but I've noticed that housecall crashes every time on me too since they changed everything.

yeah, use the coolwebsearch remover it works on most variants, run it in safe mode though
