Any interest in chipping in for a Q3 OSP or 3wave server?

Just trying to get a feel as to how interested people would be with helping out hosting a private 10 or 12 player q3 server. I would pay for everything outright and then just ask for a donation of whatever you feel appropriate to pay the $312(10)/$432(12) it would cost to host a server at gamedaemons for 12 months. I guess it would be hard to convince the non NA crew to put up for it (would be hosted in NYC) but they would of course still be allowed to use it as it would be passworded for cost purposes.

10 or 12 player OSP w/promode voteable and 3wave are probably the only mods I would consider putting on there. Anyway, think about it and post how strong your interest would be and whether or not you think you could generate interest outside of this board.

I was considering doing the same thing.

Of course, the america/europe divide makes the prospect of part-funding a server a much less appealing venture for me.

Also, my personal angle was to use it not just as a regular game server (there are already hundreds and many are empty, after all) but also as a regular beta test server and organised events machine (whatever mods we feel like messing with)

well i have access i think to a pretty substantial competitive tdm/duel/ctf chunk of the NA player pie and was hoping it to be more of a somewhat skilled pickup server. there's only i think 2 or 3 OSP servers like that in NA atm, much less than EU.
