editLights -> ERROR: couldn't find tools dynamic library

Is editLights supposed to work in Quake 4? I'm getting the above error message in the console (instead of a sexy ingame light editor).

Edit: might be important that I'm doing it in MP mode. I'll try singleplayer mode tomorrow... zzzz.
