Benchmark maps?

Post by CheapAlert »

Is there any specially made benchmark maps available, preferably with demos?

The only one I can think of is the NVidia Bunker Map ..

http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=174

It comes with a Demo included in the pk3 but the demo is an old .dm3 file so is fairly redundant now as you can't play it back with the latest point release.

I have no issues running this on my rig with everything ramped up but then it's not that old a rig. Might be worth getting this for look if you have an older rig.

Also there's a couple of others, it might be worth doing a search in google for...

tvy-bench - The Velvet Yard - by hipshot
chartres - chartres - by QkennyQ
pom - Pyramid of the Magician - by Sock

no timedemos included but worth the download for a run round to see how your rig gets on with them.

http://zfight.com/wireframe/: scroll down a bit for "THE VELVET YARD - This map is *NOT* meant for any kind of competitive play"

I've searched for "rgoer_seasons" but can't find it anywhere. That was an fps killer and nice to watch as well: a single tree in a small valley, showing the passing seasons.
