What causes a fax machine to print this?

Our fax at work started to print this shit out, spewing page after page. I unplugged the fax, reconnected it, and turned it back on, and it started doing it again. Ihad to push cancel print job like 20 times, then it finally stopped.

What causes stuff like this to come out of a fax machine? Virus or fax machine error?

It's most likely a corrupted job which is displaying ASCII characters. Is this a common occurence? Have you looked on the knowledge base for the fax manufacturer?

If it was a corrupted job wouldn't it stop after a few pages? It kept on going and going as in 100+ pages :icon32:

I will check the manufacturer and see if this is an issue.
