1.1 Patch removed from idsoftware

I'm looking at idsoftware's page at 03:17 on the 29th of March and they have the following articles:
ID store under renovation
Carmack inducted into walk of fame
Dec 9th 2005 Quake 4 Online tournament
Notice something missing? Nothing about the 1.1 Final or 1.1 beta patch. After doing some research it appears as if widescreen mode in 1.1 Final can damage your monitor. I haven't found anything official except some disclaimers on download sites for 1.1 and the lack of a download on ID's website.
Anyone else notice this?
Need a german translator:
Description

Can anything else go wrong with Q4? I mean some of the hurdles this game has had is just unreal. Almost laughable actually.
*UPDATE* According to a posting on the Quake3World.com message boards, the following message was left by an id employee:
Please take down your mirror for the Quake 4 1.1 beta and/or final. There is a problem with the widescreen functionality that may harm a user's monitor. We are working on a re-release and will make it available as soon as possible. Please advise your viewers that may be using the current 1.1 beta and/or final to NOT enable widescreen or disable widescreen if they are currently using it.
The download links and mirrors will stay, but be advised of the current situation. Links will switch to the updated version once this is fixed.

It's French. It approximately means:
Description
The 1.1 patch for Quake 4.
Attention, this patch is buggy and can damage your monitor if you use the WIDESCREEN function. id Software intends to release a new version of the patch soon. While we're waiting for that, it might be better to not download this patch.

Actually its french, not german..
Description The patch 1.1 for Quake 4.
Attention, the patch is buggy and can damage your monitor if you use function WIDESCREEN.
id Software intends to release a new version of the patch soon.
While waiting, its better not to download the patch.
I don't understand a word french, so possible the translator has made some errors, but reading it, it seems correct.
edit: argh too late :icon32:

I think "buggé" should be translated as bugged -- a word that's more likely to be used in an official announcement like this.

This patch is actually the shit besides a few remaining bugs. They didn't make any gameplay changes? The movement seems like way smoother.

aye seems to run faster and smoother. Perhaps that is down to some of the bugfixes (sound etc etc). Forcemodels will also help to reduce the strain on pc's - possibly improving fps ?
gameplay fixes in 1.2 allegedly (apparently they're aiming for a quicker upgrade cycle this time, although lol i wouldn't count on that)
as for the widescreen problem, I am not too concerned as i don't have a widescreen monitor

. I haven't read the bug posts yet, although initial impressions of the patch are good - more things fixed, than broke (bitchin aside, i call that heading in the right direction)

Yeah, the overall impression is ok. They could have added a demo playback menu though... -_-
I found some sparklies (in Outpatient) and other errors (Double edged) though.

The bug doesn't even sound like a big deal, but I guess they have to cover all their bases.
SyncError:
The problem doesn't even occur when you are on that monitor and you force it into widescreen (which it doesn't support). The problem occurs when you attempt to force it into widescreen, ignore the warning message "Video Mode not Supported" and keep clicking the toggle over and over. As in nearly a hundred times. THEN after all that time, it is causing this one model of monitor to get damaged. In otherwords, they have no clue if it even has to do with the game. It may just be poor manufacturing and rapidly changing modes over and over cause the monitor to fail.

my. $.02... The movement is definately smoother. I can't really describe how, but it feels MORE controlled, somehow..

Could there be anymore problems with getting this patch out the door ? Any ideas of how long it will take to "test" then get the patch back out and available ? A Week ,2 weeks ? I'm sure there won't be too many server admins willing to install and run a patch that has been pulled. So those clients who have already updated are left out in the cold till it gets re-released and the servers can get updated.
I realize there is not much that can be done to prevent these sorts of bugs from cropping up and that I can go back to the 1.0.5 patch if need be but good Lord this game has had some growing pains. It'll be nice just to have something final ,finally.

widescreen monitor damage is 101% just a cover to some other major bugs that they've discovered or realised just after releasing the patch..
i doubt that the wd enable can damage anyone's monitor

they would already have a ton of suits or ppl claiming that their monitor is damaged just to get som money

I am not so sure about that, its business as usual as far as i am concerned. - we've currently got 6 1.1 final servers running, and are continuing to mirror the file (with a little footnote naturally)
The release is proving popular, with no current 'major' problems client or serverside. (lol i may well end up eating my words - its only been 24 hrs or so)
When the new release comes out, we will patch everything and replace the files with the new version.

Good thing I don't use a widescreen. Other wise I couldn't enjoy this master piece of a patch.

Damn, that's a whole lot of sound bugs/issues. Pretty crazy how much bugs of the sound system (netcode?) are being reported. Dualcore support still seems to be causing issues as well.

Thank god we're not all stuck with Q4 but still have Q3, in perfect condition! :D

The only bug that still hurts my feelings: Weird late/dropped/laggy sounds.
Telejump to mega on monsoon? It sounds like you're being chased by an opponent, the sound is SO late...
