gffx5200 + q3a =

forced 3/4 texture detail , can't turn it to full 4/4 no matter what i do
btw note: my r9500 died from stroke and i'm forced to go back to the fx5200 for awhile

thanks, but it keeps going back to r_picmip 1 everytime i start q3a. wtf is it retarded thinking i have a 3dfx or something...
and no, no auto cfg or any cfg is setting this, it appears to be the engine

you have set it in your q3config.cfg and it reverts back to 1?
btw, picmip 1 dosent look bad at all. :/

picmip 1 is for "professionals".
it always goes to 1 no matter how many cfgs i have that try to force it to 0.

Does it work in-game via console (set, and then vid_restart) at all?
In your autoexec.cfg are you typing seta before the command (not set)?
You can also try putting it in the target field of the game shortcut
