When I setup a server I get kicked out of the program.
What am I doing wrong?

Kicked to a blue console screen? If so that's normal. That's the server running. You then open a second copy of the game to play on it.

Hello Foo,
Thanks, some solutions are that simple!
It seems to work fine.

Hello Foo,
I followed your instructions, but my friends can't find my server(name) in the internet serverlist. I also can't see my servername in the list. Do you have any suggestions?
thanks

Find your IP address from a site like
http://www.whatismyip.com
When your server is running, both you and your friend can connect to it by going to the console (key below ESC) and entering:
\connect 192.168.1.2
Replace the long number with your IP address.
If you can connect like this, but your friend can't, you may have to make some small adjustments to your router/connection.
Good luck.

Add your own IP in the favorites in Q3. Your server should show up right away there.
