PCI extension cable???
PCI extension cable???
I just built a new pc. My Motherboard is an Asus A8n32-sli-deluxe. I have a nvidia 7900GTX video card and a soundblaster XFI sound card. I also have a tv tuner card but the only slot available is right under the video card which resticts the airflow of the video cards fans causing alot of heat (Used to idle at 46c now idles at 56c). Is there such a thing as a pci extension cable?

I think so but from what ive been reading the pci-x card will run at the pci bus speed. 66 down from 166. So that would suck. The raiser card might help if only to allow more airflow.AmIdYfReAk wrote:There are PSI Raiser cards, But they are a solid piece of PCB... i dont think that they would help..
is it at all possible to run the Card in the other PCI-X Slot to move it down?

I would but I have an Antec P-180 case and the power supply is on the bottom. So the power cord coming up blocks where the card would go. Im playing Bf2 and Doom 3 maxed out and the card gets up to 56c. Thats not to bad is it?. Its 5 minutes since I was last playing and its down to 49c. The gpu had a plastic shroud around it. Maybe that vents air out the back. Also the case has 4 fans in it. 2in 2 out. Maybe im worrying to much?AmIdYfReAk wrote:it wont, basically its aPci card in itsself...
i would say try moving the Gpu down, it should work..
