No more fake ID/clean record

I just got home after being arrested. With handcuff marks still engrained in my wrists as I type this.

Now the long story.

I was out earlier in the night with my family out at dinner. When I got back, I got a call from one of my friends asking if I want to hang out; he can come pick me up. I start work tomorrow, but not until 1:30, so I figure what the hell, one last night before my first day of work.

Now, unbeknownst to me, before my friends picked me up, they were smoking pot in their car outside of Barry's Market (a little supermarket). They have kind of loud mouths anyway, but when they get high they're really not tolerable. On top of it, it's no secret they're smoking weed since the parking lot is small and it's easy to smell what kind of smoke is coming out of the windows. They started harassing some older guy (40s) cause he's giving them weird looks. I don't know what they said...but they really pissed him off because as he was driving away, he called the cops and reported their license plate number. They aren't aware of any of this at the time.

Bad luck for me, they leave to come pick me up before the cops can get there. I get in the car, can smell weed, but I don't really care and we carry on like normal. they don't mention anything they did before, but they really have no reason to, I know they smoke and they can be real dicks to people they don't like. I have no idea the cops are looking for their car or I wouldn't have gotten in.

We get to Fast and Easy (another small supermarket, close to the one where they were earlier), and they tell me what beer they want, give me money, etc (they don't have fakes). So I go buy all our beer and come back out to the car, as soon as I get in, 3 sheriff cars pull up right behind us get out with guns drawn, yelling at the driver to get out with hands up. At this point I'm thinking "wtf? I've bought from that guy plenty of times, I know he wouldn't rat me out...why would they send 3 sheriffs with guns drawn for alcohol anyway?"

There's no way to hide the beer, as there's a lot of it and I know they'll do a thorough call search anyway. So I get out, get searched, cuffed, and put in the back of one the cop cars...we're all in different ones. I have no idea what the fuck is going on, but they stick me in the car and close the door, I have no one to talk to or ask what the fuck is going on (and if you've ever been cuffed in the back of a cop car, it's not comfortable...the seats are plastic and with your arms behind your back, the seat won't give so the handcuffs dig right into your wrists).

Then they call up some guy I've never seen before and ask him to give a statement I don't know what the fuck to think cause this guy drove over...obviously he wasn't in the store. I've never seen the guy in my life before...but he's the guy who my friends harassed and he called in their plate number.

After at least an hour in the car, with 6 cops dicking around outside (I have no idea what they're talking about) and one old guy...a cop opens my door and tells me story of what happened earlier. He basically told me that I would have got away free if I hadn't bought the beer (kind of wrong place wrong time type of thing) - the cops wouldn't have known had they not been looking for the car.

So he took my ID, drove me home, and we talked to my parents outside my front door.

I don't know what punishment I'm facing, I'm sure they'll send some letter explaining it to me, but that's not what I'm worried about right now.

Right now, I'm worried about getting sued.

The Fast and Easy is going to get a fine for selling to a minor, could get its liquor license taken away, and could get the clerk fired. The fine I know will happen, I doubt the license will be taken, and I doubt the clerk will be fired as he did card me...I just used a fake.

However, because I used a fake, they can turn around after they get that fine and sue me - my major problem right now.

I was thinking (I had an hour alone cuffed in the back of a car not knowing why 6 cops came in 3 cars with guns drawn and why there was some guy outside I've never seen before giving a statement - I had a long time to think)...I was thinking I could have told them that I brought the beer from my house and put it in the car, we stopped at Fast and Easy to take a piss - that way Fast and Easy wouldn't have been fined.

But for one thing, my friends and I were in seperate cars so they wouldn't know to go along with my story and even if we were in the same car and could come up with it, they would still probably ask the clerk.

There's not a lot of times in my life where I've been as nervous as I was in the cop car. I thought they were trying to pin something a lot more serious on me when they had 6 cops with guns pointed when I got out of the car and then some guy I had never seen before giving a statement I couldn't hear since I was in the car. A whole hour of that is kind of hard to handle.

Yeah, I really am. I'm not planning to hang out with them again. I had been avoiding those particular guys all summer since I've been home, I just wanted to see some people I haven't seen yet before I have to start working. Bad fucking idea.

Well, like I said, I know they were smoking weed (cause that's why he supposedly starting giving them weird looks, the car reeked of it, and they were obviously high), but I have no idea what the fuck they said or did to the guy. I was caught like a deer in the headlights. I buy some beer, put in the car and the next thing I know I have 6 loaded guns at the back of my head as I lie face down on the pavement getting cuffed, then dragged up and searched (whole time just thinking "whoa, this isn't normal for a minor buying beer.").

I have no idea if they threatened the guy with a weapon they didn't have, or what the fuck they did.

I can only keep thinking of what if the cops got them before they came to my house, or if the cops swooped on the car while I was still in the store, all that what if shit - but still very real possibilities.
If the license plate was reported, I'm sure the guy said there were two people (even physical descriptions would help...I'm white blonde hair/blue eyes one's Mexican black hair/brown eyes, the other's Asian black hair/brown eyes). I was the only one in the store, so the cops would have no reason to wait.
45 secs after I bring the beer back, I barely have time to put on my seatbelt when 3 cars come flying up behind us to block us incase we tried to run.

Oh yeah, if Law happens to read this, can I really get sued for using fake since they'll be fined?

I didn't use the fake when I bought the alcohol tonight. I had it on me like usual so the cops took it when they searched me, but I buy there whenever I need alcohol and I'm always buying for a few people so I always buy a lot of alcohol. The guy knows me, has carded me before, so he doesn't anymore. He didn't card me earlier tonight.

The ID doesn't scan or blacklight, but it is my picture. Is it the clerk's responsibility to scan or blacklight any suspicious ID's? I know I'm probably reaching and will most likely have to bite the bullet if they want to sue for the fine, but is there any grey area here since he didn't card tonight? Or is just doing it in the past enough?

he sold to a minor, either way. regardless of you 'tricking' him.

Exactly, I find it very hard to believe they had guns drawn unless the old guy said something. If they were threatening the guy, the cops might assume they have weapons.

Either way..what kinda dumbfucks spend their saturday evenings hanging out getting stoned in a supermarket parking lot, harrasing old people.

I can legally buy beer, vote, die, but we (australians) need to jump through hoops to get guns. Which is a good thing, really, because some people are pretty fucking stupid.
