As a hardcore rock fan, I kind of disagree. Rap's bastard child hip hop sucks. Lil' Jon, Ying Yang twins, all that garbage sucks. HEY SHAWTAY IN DA CLUB ROCKIN DA BUBBLAY IN MY 24'S LOOK AT THAT BOOTY HOLLA BOOTY HOLLA HOLLA BOOTY.

TRUE rap, however, is good stuff. It has emotion and black angst.

I wouldn't call Tupac "black angst."

Tupac was more, "if you get in my way I'm going to fucking kill you and then make money by rapping about your corspe."

Mainstream rap is OK until the early/mid-90's.

After that you really have to sift through the junk to find the gems.

I think there has never been a music stream quite as polluted and tainted as rap music before.

Only Muslims go to Meccas. Why don't you go to a wailing wall and beat your head on it repeatedly, it's good for your train of thought :icon14:

Got from a friend/listening to now --> exile: dirty science

...halfway through it and it's good stuff (so far).

new album from DJ Exile, of Emanon fame.

Exile's album DIRTY SCIENCE, which features dynamic collaborations with Slum Village, Kardinal Offishall, and MED, re-defines the various styles within hip-hop music, and the result is consecutive heat. Add to the mix his stable of familiar emcees, including Aloe Blacc, Blu, Blame One, Co$$, Donel Smokes, LA's own Trek Life, Detroit's Ta'Raach (a.k.a Lacks), and Oxnard's finest, Oh No, plus the golden voice of Jontel.
