My CRT monitor blew up, so I dusted off the old 21 inch CRT by HP (D2846A) or (P1100). Trouble is, I cant seem to find any winxp drivers for it, and Windows doesnt auto detect it. These crummy refresh rates are killing me. Any idea where to look?
You should be able to set refresh rates regardless of what's attached. Look for a tick box like 'only show modes this monitor can support' and untick it.
Should be in display properties advanced adapter

Na it isnt, I checked. Locked out there too. Easiest fix is the winxp drivers. Doubt the monitor is expensive, been lying around for a while. When I change to 800x600, it is still maxed out at 85Hz, it can definately push more, close to 150Hz at that~.
What does it think your monitor's called? With both of mine set to 'Plug & Play' as per the screenshot, I can set any refresh rate I like (screen just blanks if it cant support it)

Mine is plug and play aswell, however I noticed my last monitor aswell required drivers before I had unlockecd the refresh rates. I am also using refreshlock.exe.
When setting custom stuff with refreshforce be really certain you know what the monitor supports - is this guesswork or do you have a manual for it that says which ones it supports?
Righto thanks. I could have sworn it was running at 100Hz pre-reboot. But at 800x600 I am 100% sure it can do over 85Hz. Check out my refreshlock rates, all locked at 85Hz. Like I said, my old monitor did this aswell until I installed the drivers for it.
