Does anyone know if there's any SATA drivers for an nForce2 mobo (Asus A7N8X) I can load up through the WinXP command prompt?
Problem is that I have a failing harddrive which causes a blue screen when I load up WinXP. I can boot safely into the command prompt using a WinXP installation CD. This is no surprise, since it's a SATA drive and no SATA drivers are loaded.
So now I'm wondering how I should load Serial ATA drivers. Should I download (and are there) DOS drivers for SATA? I'm curious if there's even a tiny chance that I could access the drive through the command prompt.
You probably aren't going to be able to load a driver from the command prompt. The one potential solution would be to find an EXE installer that recognizes the -s (silent) switch. Failing that, you'll have to reinstall and do what Underpants suggested.
