as i have been living on upgrades for the last 4 years, its about time I blew the cobwebs off my wallet and got a new gaming PC.
I really have lost track of what motherboard/cpu/videocard kicks ass, so I wouldnt mind someone giving me some rough specs of a ok gaming system.
Im not sure if I would blow all my money now, and get the best I can get, or get something thats just ok now, but costs less and is more suited to upgrading later on.
bare in mind that I live in Japan, so prices are gonna be different compared to wherever you are.
I wouldnt mind spending between $800US and $1750US - including a 19inch screen. I dont need a big HDD, DVD-R or case, so Im thinking its gonna be cheaper to build.
using the parts I already having would leave me needing motherboard, RAM, CPU, videocard, a small but nice HDD( I already have a big drive for file storage) maybe a new PSU (my current one is 300w) and a 19inch screen.
I dont really give a fuck about soundcards, is there going to be any amazing difference between using the latest badass soundcard, and the one that comes on a new motherboard?
oh and some examples at both ends of the price scale would be useful.
