worst new year memory?

Post by tnf »

Mine is probably 2001. Got drunk beyond stupidly drunk, started wrestling around with my brother in some sort of drunked fight (in good fun of course..but drunken fun), slammed him through a coffee table, he then slammed me into a corner table and I got a bruised kidney and pissed blood for 3 days. Puked on my favorite shirt. That was near the time I quit drinking altogether.

Tonight my wife and I are sitting here watching TV and eating chips and salsa. And for some reason I am completely content with it. Times they do change.

I sat in and sorted out my flat and ate some olives and watched True Lies all the way through for the first time.

last year, although it wasn't the night that was bad, it was my hangover. ;<

No, it means they were good, or uneventful. I don't get that trashed. And even if I did, that doesn't mean it was bad.

'98, got stoned and drunk as fuck and spent new years eve hyperventilating in a bathtub

Tonight I had the choice between going to a club I hate with friends or staying home alone.

I decided to stay home, went for a walk to watch fools set themselves on fire at 12 o clock, then had a friend over and played C&C Generals with him for almost four hours.

my dad got drunk as usual on new years eve and beat my mom up as usual.
he had a gun and some pills and threated to kill himself
when he passed out my mom took us all in a cab to her freinds house where we hid for 3 days.
i've seen my dad about a dozen times since then.

i think that counts as a bad new years ..i was 7

Yep, I'd say that sucks Ax.

Reminds me of a woman at work. She said her mom kept trying to kill them when she was a kid. She remembers one time her mother called the 3 kids into the kitchen and had them lay on the floor, then she turned on the gas and left the room. So Betty got up and shut the gas off and layed back down. The mother would come back an hour later, go wtf?, turn the gas back on and leave...and Betty would get up and turn it back off. She said it went on all night until her Dad got home. I think Betty was the oldest of the 3 kids at 10.

I was thinking most would recall stories of drunken stupidity...

But your story is definitely the saddest. :tear:

I don't want to turn this into a Q and A about your life since then, but I hope things got better after that. I can't imagine what that had to be like for you at 7 years old.
