whoever told you is an idiot. Your aim is still the same. Wherever your crosshair is pointed, thats where youre firing.

accell doesnt mess up your aim. sensitivity will. I use a mouse accel of 1.0. But it all depends on the mouse you use.

Too much up to personal preference. I use low sens and no accel. And a big mousepad. Especially the pad helped me a lot.

Totally personal preference.

Have seen great players with acceleration, and great players without.

and great players who use high sens ("russian style") and great players who use low sens (like stelam i think? i'm pretty sure one of those germans used wicked-low sens back in the day)

i think the general consensus these days is low sens = good, accel = personal preference, whereas 3-5 years ago accel was generally considered to be detrimental.

i dunno about that. didn't czm go to high sens? i don't think you really could play a fast map with lots of turns and tight spaces like aero with low sens... you'd be flapping your arms around like a jackass just to run armors.

Have you seen one of the toxic q4 movies where he does a lot of mouse turns? It looked like he was almost using the entire pad (and he had a good sized one). Seems like he uses a low-ish sens, or summat

last czm cfg i checked uses 7 @ fov 90 i think w/yaw .021 and pitch -.014, no accel. my original post was along the lines of 'everyone minus czm pretty much uses low sens' but i changed it.

i personally have been dropping my sens consistantly. i built a new pc in nov and went from a sens of 7 to 4 @ fov 100, yaw .014, pitch .015 and just added accel of .005. i have no problems playing on hub or making quick adjustments.

man...I dunno about any of this mouse stuff..

I say mess with sensitivity until you find that your wrist is happy with it. I have different sensitivity settings..based on what kind of mod it is. I usually use in between 5 to 7...though 7 even feels a bit quick for me. 6 is the devils number...it seems to work good :icon34:

The cvars you're looking for are, surprisingly, m_yaw and m_pitch (both default to 0.022).

hey thnx for the above info, but im still confused, are these variables sensitivities in the direction like yaw for turn and pitch for looking up and down, so do these override the default sensitivity value?

overall sens isnt affected but changing the defaults allows you more or less side to side or up and down while keeping the other, beit yaw or pitch, at it's default value if you prefer. a negative pitch gives what is considered an inverted mouse (up and down directionals are switched).
