Apparently when they aired Hammond's crash they got 8.6 million viewers (30% of people watched it, higher than any other channel at the time). They got 7 million on the last episode.
For you non-UK people Top Gear is on BBC2 not the main BBC1 channel.
The BBC must be loving it.
http://media.guardian.co.uk/overnights/The highest-rating BBC2 show last year was the final of The Apprentice, which attracted 5.9 million viewers. Top Gear's best 2006 audience was 5.3 million viewers.

....WOW.... :-0
The first time Top Gear raced with a Veyron against a propellerplane through Europe was fun, but this is what we were waiting for.
Incredible feat for the Volkswagen engineers that made it possible to cross the 250 mph - 400 km/h in a production car, while surviving it. They'll never regain the cost of R&D, so applause for the imagination and determination to advance car technology.

Which begs the question of why they ever sold one to this faggo: http://savemanny.blogspot.com/2007/01/s ... 7-mil.htmlsaturn wrote:....WOW.... :-0

This is a car that has 2000hp and is street legal. They mention the Bugati in this clip. As far as stait line racing this car will beat the Bugati but I doubt it will reach the top speed of the Bugati. All of this HP in a Chevy motor.

while it is mechanically impressive... its nothing new; or even remotely as impressive as the feat of engineering that the veyron is.
