Yeah, Pride had so much talent and soul and it all got flushed from a few bad decisions and a lot of bad luck. The Zuffa acquisition of DSE/Pride is messed up, all the DSE signed fighters are between a rock and a hard place.

I never read into any of it. Prides fights, and fighters are just so much more entertaining and interesting to watch over UFC. I want to see what happens with Shinya Aoki, and the rest of them.

was that a pay per view event? They keep saying that UFC/MMA is becoming more and more mainstream as a sport, so I'm hoping that eventually some bigger fights will be televised live on cable/major networks without me having to pay $50 or whatever for the thing like boxing (which is a sport that is in shambles if there was ever one...at least the heavyweight division).

he actually does have class - it doesn't always show. I used to think he was a moron, but after seeing the way he treats his opponents, I became a fan. Perfect example is after fighting Murilo Rua.

btw i had a dream last night that mauricio rua (shogun) was killed by his father in the ring - his father was watching from the corner, and was upset with his performance, went in the ring, and killed him.

I believe they showed clips of the knockout on ESPN, and I've seen coverage of the fight on the main page of ESPN and SI's websites ...it's getting there

I hate that stupid howling shit. Sure, the guy can fight, but he's a fucking retard. I can't stand fighters that run their mouths all the time, no matter how good they are. That's why I laughed my ass off when Joe Stevenson choked out Melvin Guillard in about 30 seconds.

There's an element of showmanship to what these guys do, but you don't have to be a dickhead about it. See Sugar Ray Leonard for reference. I probably would have hated Ali back in the day as well, but I'd take nothing away from his skills.

The guy sounds a bit like he belongs in the WWE with the antics. Taking nothing away from how good of a fighter he obviously is.
