Possible to remove frag counter in right corner of screen?

i was wondering if it was possible to remove the frag counter in deathmatch games in vanilla quake 3. this frag counter will tell you how many frags you have when you are alive, and also how many frags the leading player has, and how many frags until the end of the game.

i would like to remove this as i think it is uneccessary and just adds more screen noise. i know it is possible in cpma, and i love cpma dearly, i was just simply wondering if there was a console command for the vanilla (regular) quake 3 that would remove it.

Apart from setting cg_draw2d to zero, there isn't any way to disable it.
