What's up with this fog!?

Post by ALMighty »

I can't seem to get my sky fogged in my map. It worked in another map I made but was smaller and didn't use terrain. The trick was to not have the fog brush touch the sky brushes. In this map however, it doesn't seem to work, and I have no idea why. Any ideas?

Old map, no terrain and fogged sky works fine:

New map, using terrain, fogged sky doesn't work for some reason:

I managed to fix it, but I don't really know why! I just went back to my old sky shader and fog shader. I don't see nothing in it that would explain it, all I changed was the colour values.

Anyway, it works so I'm happy.

A pity of the seam in the skybox, the rest looks damn well perfect. Will you release it?

Thank you! :)

If nothing else I think I'll at least release the textures and models and everything. Maybe someone else can make something good out of it if I can't. I've had it on my harddrive for 2 years or more. :dork:

Looks very good and atmospheric, I remember seeing the first shot quite some time ago. Asked myself whether it was for q3 or not then.

What about that guy with the red shirt? A playermodel you made or just a statue?

Thanks! Yes, it's just a regular mirror. I will change it to a regular water texture though, probably with environment mapping instead.

Thanks! It's just a regular model I made learning 3D Studio MAX, and put it there for no reason but for fun. :p
