Just can't sleep
Just can't sleep
I don't remember a time when I could sleep more than 3 hours without interruption. I had a sleep study done. I don't have sleep apnea at all. I don't snore at all. Edit: Sorry, I did reach stage 4 sleep during the study but only for about 15 minutes.
Last night was typical. I went to bed at 2 am. Fell into a hard sleep popped awake at 3:30am. Got up, sipped some water, back to bed. Looked at the clock at 6:30 am. Rolled over, napped a little got up for the day at 7:30 am.
I don't think any amount of exercise and good nutrition is going to help me with the fatigue I'm feeling.
(I ride my bike just about every day instead of going to the gym now).

have you maxed on the bike ride and now ur body needs more exercise before it feels fatigued?
if not, have you considered any triggers for chronic fatiuge syndrome?
and yeah, sex - by yourself or with a friend is good - but not the complete answer for restful sleep every night ( well for me anyway)

"Liberty, what crimes are committed in your name."
No, not maxed on the bike yet.
I can't go to the gym right now, so I'm doing a variation of my routine at home. I use light weights, 3 - 5 pounds max. I use the ball when I do abs because my trainer said it's better for core body muscles. If things work out, I'll rejoin the gym in September.
Edit: My brothers and sister have trouble sleeping too. I was talking to my younger brother about his exercise routine yesterday. He's switched over to jogging daily. He's 6'3" 190 lbs. I thought it was interesting he said he had to eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich before jogging or he gets faint-ish.

Not sleeping? Ouch, but hey--think about all the extra time you have now! Given any thought to taking up night hobbies, such as burglary?

sometimes I get into something (work /gaming/ surfing) instead of sleeping which is anything but beneficial when you are trying to relax.
That ends up being a long story, lol.
To make it short, I don't do anything at all. I lay there in the dark and day dream. I've gotten to the point where I sometimes don't realize I'm awake unless someone talks to me or there's some small noise that catches my attention.
I don't need an alarm clock either. I'm always awake by 6-6:30am. If I need to wake up at an odd time, for example 3 am, I just look at the digital clock beside my bed, say "okay, be up at 3" and I wake up at the right time. No shit.
I tried using an alarm at volume once, I don't remember why I thought I needed it but when it went off, I sat up so fast I got a nose bleed. Sometimes I will set the alarm now (if I have to catch a plane or something) but it's at barely a whisper.
Do you actually feel tired/sleepy during the day?
How's work? Stressed, lots of work load, things to keep track of mentally?
When on the bike, what time of day are you doing this?
Not everyone needs a solid 8 hours and some people I know have weird sleep patterns as well.
I have an uncle who's in his mid 70's that sleeps 4 hours a day, still works, spends hours gardening, stays up late on his computer, and has more energy than I do.

I have problems with sleep also. It seems like the more I do during the day, the harder it is for me to get to sleep at night.
I have a TV in my room, and sometimes I'll turn it on to low volume for something to listen to, and to keep my mind from wondering. It doesn't always help, but at leasts it helps on some nights.
