SLOW XP

Just installed XP home and all good. Downloaded and installed AVG and did the first 3 windows updates.

Rebooted and I get those white lines at the bottom of the screen like with 2000 Pro. Thats it.

Went to safe mode and it took approx 8 minutes to get into safe mode. All those lines that usually appear almost instant, loaded 1 line at a time .

Any ideas why it would be so slow suddenly like this. Uninstalled AVG while in safe mode, didnt help

start listing out the hardware in the computer!

Also, have you tryed Re-installing Your chipset drivers?

Go into Device manager and make sure your Harddrives arnt running in PIO

Tried a reinstall on a different hard drive, same computer and it works fine. Plugged the first hard drive back up and it does nothing.
