Bioshock Demo on Xbox Live

I hadn't followed this game much, but I saw a commercial for it last night and I almost filled my boxers. I'll buy it the second it hits the shelves. Shit, I think my wife even wants to play it after watching the ad.

Sadly, if its the latest movie you saw as an ad, thats all CG, not ingame...

However, the actual game IS pretty much exactly the same. Anything is your weapon, and anything you would expect to work, works, just as throwing an oil drum at an enemy, watching it spill over the floor, then lighting it to torch him.

Game of the year material. Sod Halo 3. I cant wait to play it... The demos at 63%... Yawns...

The graphics are wonderful, truly imersive (spelling?) and the water effects are amazing, it truly feels like your below the surface in an underwater city with walls about to breach, poodles and water sipping in from doors and 5 inch glaswindows..

The atmospher are great, really dark and moody.
RPG elements arent shown that much in the demo but i've read that you will evolve and gain lots of specialties.. (crap my spelling is shit.. ooh well)
The melee system works flawless and most of the environment can be destroyed such as chairs, tables, signs etc
Havent picked up any fireweapons yet.. so can't comment on those.

Story seems slick, kliche but slick... you crash in the middle of the ocean with a plane and find a lighthouse in the middle of nowhere, it leads down below.. to RAAAAAAAAAAPTURE.

To me, it feels alot like Condemned (awsome 360 game) and there are some nasty shit going on in Rapture, great characters and scary monsters.

... gotta go play some more.

ps. you sure you wont be getting an xbox 360? Because this game aint coming to the wafflemachine (ps3)

The demo rocked. It's pretty much what you're expecting if you've been following the game. Don't forget to pick up the optional Incinerate plasmid in the Ladies' bathroom.

The only problem I have with the demo is that it's very linear...more linear than I was expecting. Hopefully that's just because it's the beginning of the game and you have mostly the tutorial stuff.

That may be on purpose. The demo isn't strictly different from the full game, but they've done it so that there are no spoilers.
