Ok, new comp time...don't need hd or OS

I have a 6 yr old dell..that I really can't upgrade anymore(paid $500). I have been out of the loop..so as far as new technology...pffft...i'm a newb

It's a 2.4ghz but has a 250 watt power supply/agp...so just buying a new card is out...due to the power supply...

basically, i just need a mobo/case/vid card...i have a 200gb hd.

any ideas..?

Well is the processor LGA775 or socket 478? If it is 478 then you will also most likely need a new processor.

As for new computer, minus hdd, I'd go with Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Quad, 2 GB of DDR2 800 RAM, an 8000 series nVIDIA card, motherboard with a P35 chipset.

Check out the 8600 GT 256mb cards at newegg if you're on a budget. They're pretty good. I saw on that was 109.99 and comes with a $20 rebate too.

for $409.
