its not lame its just not black metal anymore. albums like 'Blood Fire Death' and 'Hammerheart' are just way more melodic and epic, i think they're class tbh.

Bathory's debut basically served as the template for black metal so kudos for that but if you want some insane black metal listen to Darkthrone's 'A Blaze in the Northern Sky'. Phenomenal stuff

im a huge metal fan but even i'll admit that sometimes band/album/song names in the genre can be ridiculous, sometimes plain retarded.

the funniest song titles, possibly of all time, have to be from the band Regurgitate though, and specifically the album 'Effortless Regurgitation', which include timeless classics such as 'Complete Rectal Prolapse', 'Purulent Discharge From The Urethra', 'Bulging Vaginal Septum', 'Forced Abortion Through The Rectum' and 'Phrenetic Chainsaw Slaughter Of A Crippled Infant'.

I'm not too into darkthrone, mainly due to that whole norisk arisk black metal ordeal (norwegian aryan) If you are a metal fan though, you'd definitely dig amebix, hellbastard, hellhammer, and axegrinder. Most of the other stuff is peace punk. You're not into any of that nsbm stuff like burzum are you?

well nsbm isnt really a genre per se, i think that moniker refers more to the lyrical themes and subject matter of certain black metal bands rather than the style of music they make. But i do love Burzum, yeah. I think they're awesome but that doesn't mean I agree with that lunatic Varg's psychotic national socialist ideologies!
