I know that the two ports under the network port are usb's, but the two on the left of that I am not sure what they are... look like usb to me yet when I connect something to them they dont work, is there any reason why I might have to activate them in the bios or something b4 i use them?

those are USB ports, yes..

You shouldnt need to, but you may need to enable them in the bios, the option should be under advanced options or Internal... somthing..

have you tried what you are trying to plug into in a diffrent computer and it worked?

they shoul dbe enabled mang, they usually allways are enabled by default :)

again, if whatever you are plugging in dosnt work, try it on one of the ports that they Keyboard/mouse are currently plugged into..

that way you know for sure the port is good, then the issue lies with the Misterious Device.

good luck.

usually always. Right.

He already stated he tried the device in a known working port.

The additional ports could be on a different type of controller chip, needing a driver (check device manager for yellow icons).
They could also be USB1.1, or USB2 only, and your devices may not be compatible.

Or they could simply be disabled in the bios.
