Thoughts on replacement vid card (AGP)
Re: Thoughts on replacement vid card (AGP)
I'm thinking if you're still on an AGP board you'd be better getting anothre 6800 cheap and spending a bit to upgrade the rest of your ageing rig.
Re: Thoughts on replacement vid card (AGP)
does it have to be nvidia? ati has the fastest agp flavours in 1950pro and 1950xt. i had a 1950pro before upgrading to this 8800gt and it worked great. likely as fast if not faster than your cpu can dish out.

yeah this could be a good excuse for him to upgrade to a pci-e system. sell of your old system for some change afterwards.Foo wrote:I'm thinking if you're still on an AGP board you'd be better getting anothre 6800 cheap and spending a bit to upgrade the rest of your ageing rig.

Nope, not going to upgrade yet. I wanted to get another 6800GT but then I figured I could at least make a marginal upgrade for only a few bones more.
I'll look for the ATI cards.
