great. more half halfassed mods, splintered community and ofcourse 10 patches a year.

All mods still have to be developed on PC and then moved over to the PS3 (if I remember correclty a conversion tool is required). So the PS3's mod support basically lives and dies with the success of the PC game.

i take it this includes custom maps as well
there are a few at mapraider, including a remake of Q3DM17 that isn't terrible

Why can't you just download the mods with the PS3?
Also, DJWheat said that this was the first time a console had done "mouse & keyboard in this way"; didn't the Dreamcast have mouse & keyboard support for Q3?

it did, but not just for Q3. those were proprietary though.

Yes, I still play with the DC online (yes, the DC lives online in 2008). On the Dreamcast mouse box the main reference is regarding Q3 support.

It's a nice feature.
Two of my friends bought UT3 for the PS3 because it supports mouse and keyboard.
Even though the Dreamcast version of Quake 3 supported Mouse, Keyboard, and server side mods.

wow that is pretty slick. Now if someone would create a put up a mod that basically fixes the game(much like OSP/q4max) and maps then wow.. Thats great.
It's a shame I always hated UT games though. Oh well.
