I have this problem with my computer in which it sometimes continues to move in a certain direction for about 2-3 seconds even after i have let go of the key which commands it moving so. trying to move in the opposite will just leave me stuck until i give in and let it move in the direction it is trying to.
It isnt internet related as I have checked and it also happens in single player.
BTW, I'm running it on a Hp pavillion laptop with a Nvidea 7400 and windows XP. Its new and I dont think my computer itself is the problem as besides this issue the game runs very smothly.
I have already tried reinstalling the game, disabling all other programs and downloading the newest patch (1.32) yet nothing seems to help. I have also searched on here and google but couldnt find any information regarding this issue.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Computer moves by itself
Sorry for double posting, i would just like too add that im sure the problem isnt the keyboard itself. I have already tried using a different keyboard and that hadn't solved a thing.
Re: Computer moves by itself
C:\Program Files\Quake III Arena\baseq3\Configs\config.cfg
Delete this file and restart the game.
Most all problems can be fixed doing this in q3, but it might not in this case... worth a shot until someone more knowledgeable can help.
edit: btw

Re: Computer moves by itself
I have something similar on an old Compaq keyboard I have. Sometimes when you're playing a game, and you push a certain combination of keys... something like forward, strafe, run, jump or something (W, D, shift, space)... it gets stuck and you end up walking continuously in one direction until you press the button that corresponds to the direction that you are going in. I get this problem with multiple games.
If that's the case with you, then it could be a keyboard encoding issue. If you are sending a bunch of signals from your keyboard at the same time, some keyboards have a hard time understanding what you are doing and therefore, screws up.
Try remapping your keys to something else or try a better keyboard. I haven't had the same problem with Logitech keyboards, FYI.

Re: Computer moves by itself
Problem solved.
obsidian was right, it was my ketboard all along. Now that I have gone back to my old keyboard (which isn't wireless) movment is fine.
Is this a common problem with all wireless keyboards? If not, which wireless keyboards IYE would you reccomend?
Thanks for help guys.

Re: Computer moves by itself
It's not necessarily wireless keyboards. The problematic Compaq keyboard I have is a wired PS/2 keyboard, whereas my wireless Logitech keyboard works fine.
