My video card broke, I sent it back and got some other card

This is the one I had, that broke:
XFX GeForce 7950GT 512MB DDR3 TV-out DUAL DVI RETAIL AGP

And this is the one they sent me:
Sapphire Radeon HD3850 512MB DDR3 TV-out HDTV DUAL DVI RETAIL AGP

I'm not very good at hardware. Is this card as good, or are they screwing me?

The 3850 is DX10 where the geforce was DX9. That's good news for starters.

I don't think they can trademark a model number. If nVidia called their card the Catalyst 9800 or something, I'm sure you'd see suits and briefcases popping up spontaneously.

Did some checking. The 9600 gt is about par with the 8800 gt which I already have. Definitely at least waiting on the 9800s.

i should have waited and done more research myself, i have the 8800gts 320, if i had waited i'd get the 8800gt 512, oh well
