Trouble joining multi-player games

First let me say that i am not a computer savy guy... i haven't played this game in ~ 6 years... my multi-player tab with in the game brings up nothing. others have told me to try Qtracker... i have it loaded in my pc but i have no clue how to navigate the damn thing. When i do select a game Q3 starts as it should and while trying to connect it says that trying to connect.. proxy 48, 68, etc. what the heck does that mean? I would greatly appreciate an in-depth response geared toward someone who doesn't play very much.. thx

i forgot to mention i also have the "all seeing eye" and no servers come up with in it.. i am probably doing something wrong!!!!!!!!

i would scope the instructions to be sure you initially set it up correctly

ok... i can view servers with the All Seeing Eye now.. thx for the info juggernaut.... however, i still cannot connect!!! what does "Protocol #" mean??? do i need to down load something? or is this a private network... if so where are the public games listed?
