Don't even THINK about the 8500Gt...it sucks all kinds of liquid shit. It was obsolete when it was released last year. 8800gt, 9600gt and Radeon hd3870 you can find for sub $200.

Intel vs AMD...dunno, I'm researching a new system myself at the moment.

RAM is cheap right now but realistically, you can make do with 2Gb

Intel vs AMD...dunno, I'm researching a new system myself at the moment.

I'd get an Intel cause AMDs are not so reliable (I heard that a lot have melted easily compared to Intels, that was probably with overclocking but it shows which are more reliable.).

I was going to say get Intel instead of AMD but I've heard a lot of praise for AMD's value, so I figured it was just down to personal perference, and he'd already decided.

Also, I'd ask about the spec in T&T cause they know better what makes a decent system, and (I think) any conflict of hardware there might be.
