I have a working cd-key for quake 3. However, I lost my cd for the game. Is there anyway I can install this game?

No ways that we can give you info for. All of the files for installing Q3 come with the latest patch, with the exception of the pak0.pk3 file which is about 500Mb and forms the core of the Q3 installation.

Your best move would be to buy a copy from Steam. I think it's about $5
