SLI Question

buddy of mine picked him up a (he's offline now, i think it was) GeForce 8500 GT and was thinking about buying another.

Any of you guys think it's worth spending the extra money to run SLI? Would there really be that much of a performance increase with the current machine he's on?

Deviant: but in your honest opinion, it would prolly would NOT be worth running SLI on this computer right??  its only a 2.2 ghz AMD athlon 64 processor, 1 gig of ram

i wouldnt go for it, unless it was 3GHz+, 2gig+ ram dual channel, and 8800 minimum, then go SLI if u want to.
