Apparently, after reading as much as possible, that's the book that I need.
We have 2 xp pro computers, wired network and my husband wants to set up a multiplayer for him/grandson. We can "see" files on both computers and share an internet connection. I've read/tried so much with no luck, it's probably better for me to start from the beginning.
Does anyone have a link that would show me how (in laymen terms) to set this up so that they can play Quake?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks! I'm reading that site now and working though by trial and error. I'll let you know how it works out
