I can't believe the dude walked across that beam where the whole section was missing.

Re: Take a hike!
I'll start by saying this was really well filmed. The hike itself did not really seem all that strenuous though. You can also hear him clip into that cable in the hairy sections and the fact that a rock wall provides an almost constant lean/grip surface makes me wonder if it's really that technical or even scary a hike.

Well Juggz, hiking anything past a 3 in technicality has it's risks. The big steel bar looked pretty shaky, as well, but like I said, there were some constants that made it seem less tricky. I'm no hiking master, and I passed Long's Peak with no rope, carabiners or climbing skins on my feet, so I'm thinking it's not as bad as the film may have portrayed it. The tunnel vision camera really makes it look amazing though.

That's awesome! I'd do it as long as I get to bring along my harness, and a couple of quickdraws.

I'm amazed that they built that thing at the turn of the century. I wonder how many died building that walkway. Great video.
Re: Take a hike!
Couldn't they rappel (sp?) down from up above to put everything in place?

Re: Take a hike!
Nice vid. I've actually been in that area many years ago and did a hike, but at the bottom of one of those gorges. Which is rather less suicidal. It's a really beautiful place, i'd like to go back some day...

Wow that's a beautiful place. Looking at that construction and small trail I would get all wobbly and unstable and fall off
It would get the adrenaline pumping for sure.
